A realistic end-to-end timeline

For a clearly scoped professional role, companies can often move from kickoff to accepted offer within several weeks. Highly specialized positions, uncommon technology stacks, senior leadership roles, or narrow compensation bands can take longer.

FulcrumLATAM targets presenting three to five qualified candidates within seven to ten business days. That target is for a shortlist, not a guaranteed start date; interviews, notice periods, documentation, and onboarding still follow.

Days 1–3: Role calibration

The hiring partner and client align on outcomes, seniority, must-have capabilities, English requirements, schedule, compensation, interview stages, and the manager responsible for the hire. This short calibration prevents weeks of screening the wrong profile.

The strongest briefs explain the business context and the first 90 days of expected work. Titles alone can be misleading across markets, so use responsibilities and decision rights to define seniority.

Days 3–10: Sourcing and screening

Recruiters search the relevant local networks, approach passive candidates, and screen for technical capability, communication, compensation alignment, and interest. A credible shortlist should include concise notes explaining why each candidate matches the role.

Specialized work samples may add time but improve quality. Keep them proportionate: a 45- to 90-minute exercise is often enough to reveal analytical structure, written communication, or technical judgment without asking candidates for unpaid production work.

Week 2–3: Client interviews and selection

Schedule interviews close together and use the same scorecard. Long gaps cause strong candidates to accept other opportunities and make evaluators forget important comparisons.

Aim to provide feedback within one business day. If the team needs an additional stakeholder, reserve that person's interview time before sourcing begins rather than delaying after the finalist emerges.

  • One role and culture interview
  • One technical or functional interview
  • A practical work sample when useful
  • A focused final conversation with the manager

Week 3–4: Offer and employment setup

Once the company selects a candidate, the parties confirm compensation, benefits, expected start date, working schedule, and equipment. Local documentation and payroll setup should be coordinated before the employee begins work.

A candidate may have a notice period or need time to transition responsibilities. The fastest process is not the one that pressures every candidate to start immediately; it is the one that removes avoidable administrative delays.

What speeds up or slows down the process

Speed improves when one manager owns the decision, compensation is calibrated before sourcing, interviews are pre-scheduled, and feedback is prompt. It slows when the role changes mid-search, every stakeholder has veto power, or the company cannot explain the opportunity clearly.

Frequently asked questions

Can Fulcrum find candidates in less than two weeks?

Fulcrum targets three to five qualified candidates within seven to ten business days. Candidate availability and the specificity of the role can affect timing.

What is the biggest avoidable source of delay?

Unclear requirements and slow client feedback are common causes. A written scorecard and reserved interview blocks can materially improve the process.

Does the employee start as soon as an offer is accepted?

Not always. Employment documentation, payroll setup, equipment, notice periods, and onboarding preparation need to be completed first.
